About SettlePilot & Editorial Standards
SettlePilot is an independent relocation-planning service for people moving to the Netherlands. It combines structured guides, session-only planning, AI assistance and editable downloads. It is not a government agency, law firm, tax adviser or immigration representative.
Who maintains SettlePilot?
SettlePilot is independently maintained by its Netherlands-based product owner. The product owner manages the service, selects sources, writes and revises public guidance, reviews corrections and maintains the product experience. SettlePilot does not claim that its content has been approved by the IND, the Dutch Tax Administration, a municipality or another public authority.
Our editorial principles
Use primary sources first
We prioritise the IND, Government.nl, the Dutch Tax Administration, DigiD, municipalities and other responsible public bodies. Secondary material may help identify an issue, but it does not replace the responsible authority.
Show applicability
Relocation rules depend on nationality, immigration route, family situation, municipality, timing and employment facts. Guidance distinguishes required, conditional and recommended actions rather than presenting one universal checklist.
Separate fact from guidance
Official requirements, practical suggestions and cautionary recommendations are presented differently. SettlePilot does not convert general information into personal legal, tax, medical or financial advice.
How a guide is reviewed
- Define the user question. The page is scoped around a concrete relocation decision, dependency or administrative task.
- Identify the responsible authority. We locate the official page, form, register or published requirement relevant to the topic.
- Check high-impact details. Salary thresholds, dates, eligibility conditions, deadlines and work rights are checked against primary material before publication.
- Write the exceptions. Where the answer depends on route, municipality or personal circumstances, the guide states that dependency instead of hiding it.
- Link the evidence. The official sources used for important claims are listed on the guide.
- Record the review date. The guide displays the month and year of the latest substantive review.
Update cadence
SettlePilot reviews pages when a known rule, threshold, form or official process changes, and periodically rechecks published guides. Annual amounts are reviewed around the relevant publication cycle. A visible review date does not mean that the page is monitored in real time, so users should still open the official links before making an irreversible or time-sensitive decision.
How AI answers differ from editorial guides
SettlePilot AI generates an answer at the time a user asks a question. It can clarify context, organise actions and create a downloadable summary, but its answer is not individually pre-reviewed before display and may be incomplete or wrong. The curated public guides follow the editorial process above; an AI conversation does not receive the same page-level review.
Users should not enter passport numbers, financial credentials, medical records or other highly sensitive information into the AI assistant. Important immigration, tax, legal, medical and financial decisions must be verified with the responsible authority or a qualified professional.
Corrections and challenges
We welcome specific corrections. Email settlepilot@gmail.com with the page URL, the statement you believe is wrong, and the official source supporting the correction. Material corrections are reviewed promptly and the page review date is updated when the substance changes.
Commercial independence
SettlePilot may list relocation partners or accept voluntary support. Commercial participation does not change the editorial standard. Partner applications are reviewed separately from guide content, and inclusion does not mean that a public authority or SettlePilot guarantees a provider’s service, availability or outcome.
