Change of address
Update the BRP first, then close the downstream address gaps.
A move affects more than post. Report the new address to the municipality within the permitted window and verify that organisations relying on BRP data have updated correctly.
Report the move
You can generally notify the municipality from four weeks before the move until five days after it. Use the municipality responsible for the new address.
Keep proof of occupancy
Prepare the rental or purchase agreement and any required consent or occupancy declaration.
Update direct relationships
Notify your employer, insurer, bank, GP, school, childcare provider, utilities and subscriptions where BRP updates are not sufficient.
Check immigration correspondence
Confirm that IND correspondence and sponsor records reflect the correct address, especially during a pending application.
