Prepare before booking

  • Valid passport or eligible identity document
  • Proof of lawful residence where applicable
  • Rental agreement, ownership proof or accepted address evidence
  • Original civil-status documents for everyone moving
  • Translations and legalisation where required

At the appointment

Attend at the municipality's Inwonersplein location with every family member being registered. The municipality assesses the documents and registers the move from abroad.

Do not treat a requested appointment as proof that registration is complete.

BSN and short stay

Eindhoven indicates that confirmation of resident registration can take up to four weeks. For stays under four months, RNI may apply.

Eindhoven's RNI desk accepts European passports or identity cards; other passport holders are directed to Breda or Venlo.

Plan around the processing window

Banking, DigiD and insurance workflows may depend on the BSN or BRP confirmation. Carry interim evidence and avoid assuming same-day completion.
